I’m so excited to be opening up two new kids group classes in Term 1 2022. Both classes will be held on Wednesdays in Sawtell starting 9 February for an 8-week term. The Absolute Beginners group (for kids who have never played the ukulele before) runs from 3.45-4.15pm; and the Beginners group runs from 4.30-5.00pm. This is for kids who might have played a little ukulele at school or have completed the Uko Ono Creative Kids Absolute Beginners course online. I’ll be running four-week intensives for those who have played a little ukulele before or have completed one of my Absolute Beginners courses. This will be a great way to get you back into the ukulele and up and running. The groups will be small (min 4/max 6 people) and run from the Uko Ono HQ in Sawtell. I will be able to tailor the course to each group and slowly guide you through some great songs, including a focus on strums and finger picking. The Sawtell (Monday) Ukulele Group will kick off 2022 on 31 January, 5.00-6.30pm at the Sawtell Surf Club. The start of the year is always an ideal time to join SMUG as we will be starting with some fresh songs that we will all learn together, plus brush up each week on our large repertoire of rocking songs. The theme (loosely) for Term 1 is Aussie Rock, mainly from the 70s & 80s. Think Countdown, Puberty Blues, surf clubs and pubs!
