headspace Ukulele Youth project

We are now half-way through the 8-week ‘Ukulele Art Attack’ project in collaboration with headspace Coffs Harbour. Funded through an Arts & Cultural Grant from the City of Coffs, the project aims to bring together young people to connect and express themselves through music and art. Participants in the project range from 12 to 23 years of age, with one student travelling up from Frederickton each week to participate. Interestingly, most have had prior experience with playing a musical instrument, with 50% playing multiple instruments at various times. AIME Mentor Program Day

Last Friday I spent a very hectic, yet powerful hour with young First Nation Years 7 & 8 students from schools across the Coffs Coast for the Coffs AIME Mentoring Program Day. AIME is an amazing not-for-profit organisation that strives to “Unlock the imagination of the human race to forge unlikely connections that lead to a different set of outcomes, a different world, a fairer world”. Out of the Shadows Walk

Coinciding with World Suicide Prevention Day, Saturday 10 September 2022, the Out of the Shadows Walk unites people from different backgrounds and communities who have been impacted by the death of a loved one through suicide. The Sawtell Ukulele Group are honoured to be bringing some music to the morning.
