SONG TUTORIALS
Golden Brown
You may remember the hauntingly beautiful song, “Golden Brown”, written by The Stranglers back in 1981. Well we are going to do a different version: mariachi style! Be sure to watch the YouTube video below as we folow the version by Mariachi Mexteca feat. Hugh Cornwell from The Stranglers. It’s going to be a lot of fun – with a ‘maraca’ like strum which switches between 3/4 an 4/4 time – and then a beautiful singing ’round’ at the end of the song. I’ve also included a more advanced syncopated slap pull type strum (video 2) that some of you may like to take on. So fasten your seatbelts – watch the three tutorial videos, listen to the three sound files Michelle has prepared for the three different parts in the round – and I look forward to rocking this one out with you on Monday.
